Glenwood Canyon Gem
Hanging Lake is located in Glenwood Springs, Colorado and is so worth the mountain drive. You may have seen it on various blogs or explore pages because it is so unique! I remember the entire hike I had this imagine in my head from seeing the pictures, but when I finally saw it I was even more impressed! Pictures hardly do it justice; it's magical.
Most people stay on the 'viewing trail' of hanging lake and sit down on the many beaches and some even have small picnics on the ledge. I had seen lots of pictures of people walking to the falls and definitely wanted to do that! Its not hard to get to at all and the views up close or to die for!
The actual hike is full of amazing views 360 degrees around. The massive canyons and green trees everywhere will plaster a grin on your face. Plus its full of lots of little streams and mini falls along the way.
It is a rather difficult hike because it is very steep in some areas, but it is worth every step! I saw people of all kinds and ages doing the hike so as long as you pace yourself, you can do it! Bring lots of water, you will need it!
The town of Glenwood is one of my favorites in Colorado because it's packed with fun stuff to do, beautiful views, and nice people! Rashawn and I stayed overnight in Glenwood at the Hotel Colorado because we had so many fun things we wanted to do in Glenwood! I highly recommend it because while Hanging Lake it worth every second of travel, you might as well get the most out of its home!
