Parthenon
Centennial Park Centerpiece
There is so much to see and do in Tennessee from eating all the delicious southern food or dancing to the country music a lot of people don't realize it is also home to a full size replica of the ancient Greece Parthenon! It is so beautiful and so cool to bask in its massiveness!
It sits as the centerpiece of Centennial park which has beautiful rest areas, benches, a stunning pond and lots of trees. I can only imagine how beautiful it is in the fall! The Parthenon is open six days a week, everyday except Mondays. It is open from 12:30-4:30pm on Sundays and 9:00am-4:30pm Tuesdays-Saturdays.
The architecture of the building is so stunning it really makes me want to go and see the original one in Greece. It's very cool to have a to-scale replica of something like the Parthenon because when it is finally gone or can no longer be preserved it's special to have somewhere we can still appreciate it and learn the history!
We spent our time admiring the architecture, walking the grounds, and visiting the gift store! You can go in and view the exhibits and statues for the following prices:
- Member: Free
- Adult: $6
- Children (4-17): $4
- 4 and Under: Free
- Senior Citizen (62+): $4
Both of my parents have been in and thinks it is great! It's very cool and the artwork and statues they show are beautiful. We just had a lot to get through on our list this day :)
