Dear Mom and Dad
i love you guys
This post is dedicated to my loving parents. I wanted to say Happy Mothers Day to my Mommy and Happy Birthday to my Daddy! Last year the two got to share the day when Mother's Day was on the 10th! This year I decided to combine my post into one even though it wasn't the same day again. I LOVE seeing all the love mamas get on Mothers Day, I just didn't want my mom's shine to get lost so cheers to #LaterGrams!
dear mom
Happy Belated Mother's Day! Gosh 21 years in the same career as my mom, wow! Can I say you have just done the most amazing job. I know everyone thinks their mama is special but wait until you hear about Olivia Mayer. She is the most caring, open-minded, loving, and obnoxious laugher you will ever meet! Haha. She is impossible not to love because of her amazing quirks. Those of you who know her know what I mean about the laugh :) We love her for it!
But one of the most amazing things about my mother is her love for me and my brother Payton. She truly wanted the best for my brother and I and would do anything she could to help us. She never missed a swim meet except for maybe two my entire swim career. She woke up every morning at 5 am to drive me to practice. She cooked my family homemade meals every night. She snuggled next to the fire and watched Parenthood with my every Tuesday. She joined committees, and lead events, volunteered selflessly constantly, and always reached her hand out to help. She is supermama. And I am so so blessed!
This is one of my favorite memories with my Mama! We went on a girls trip with a few of my friends and moms to Florida! Of course we stopped at DisneyWorld for my very first time and it was SO FUN! My mom grew up going to DisneyWorld so it was so fun to experience it with her and create these memories. Also I will never forget her face riding Space Mountain for the first time!
One of my other favorite memories of all time was also going to the London Olympics with my mama in 2012! You can read about it in my post here! It was the Ultimate Mother-Daughter Trip and will forever be a favorite of mine. Favorite memory: We had found out it was going to rain and my cousin gave us an umbrella that she had just found on the Undergorund the other day. We hopped on top of the double decker bus and and it just started to drizzle. We got out our handy-dandy umbrella and JUST like a movie it went flying inside out backwards into the faces of the couple behind us!! We burst out laughing, but the couple didn't think it was as funny! I wonder why ;) haha!
My mother is so selfless and loves my brother and I unconditionally! She is so much fun to be around and you can get lost in conversations for hours with her cuz boy does she love talking! I can't thank you enough for all you have done and given up for my and Payton mom, I love you so much! Happy Mothers Day!
dear dad
Happy Happy Birthday Daddy!! Where do I even begin. I can't thank you enough for being the dad, and person you are. Grandma did such a good job raising you and I know your Dad is proud of the Dad you are for me and Payton! I love you so much, I am so glad you are always there to laugh with me, eat ice cream, or do a Sudoku :)
My dad is the most supportive and caring dad their could be. This will always be our favorite picture of us because it is just so funny! We joke he was teaching me the legislative process in this photo and I was obviously not thrilled!! But my dad is ALWAYS their for me and will help me however he possibly can. He knows how to solve just about any problem, and can put together Ikea Furniture. Ya, my mom is pretty darn lucky! Ha!
He has been the most supportive person I have ever met in my whole life. I know I can always count on him in my corner with a big #1 foam finger. He was so supportive of my swimming and was always my motivation. He kept me excited, strong, and motivated to be better everyday and I can't thank him enough for that. Besides swimming he was always supportive of my education, he even stayed up until 1 am to help me finish a project in high school just so I didn't have to be awake alone! In all aspects of mine or my brothers he has always supported us so much.
One of the best memories I have with my dad was in 2013! I accomplished my goal of making the travel team as one of 5 freshman for the University of Hawaii. It was so cool to be apart of. I was really super excited to go to California, but the even sweeter deal was having my dad fly and come to the meet! It was in San Luis Obispo, and it was the first time I had seen him in over 80 days so as soon as we saw each other he picked me up and spun me around! Everyone one the team was telling me how cute me and my dad were. Haha! It was so fun exploring the city with him, we went to the Gum Wall, RocketFizz, and CHIPOTLE! Which isn't here in Hawaii and I was feeling major withdraws at that point! Even though we didn't get to travel or stay together getting to have him their supporting me and hanging out with was one of my best college memories!
Another favorite memory I have with my dad is DU Hockey Games. I grew up a swimmer, and that's pretty much all I was interested in! I couldn't sit through a football, basketball, tennis, golf you name it, I was not watching! Then my dad took my to my first DU Hockey game after getting season tickets! I am not sure if it was the players smashing the glass in front of me or the Banana Split Dippin'Dots in my lap but my dad gained his new Hockey buddy!! We made traditions out of going to our favorite Chinese restaurant Jason's Thai before the games, got Dippin'Dots after the first period, and hot chocolate after the second. I miss going to the games with you so much dad!
I love you guys so much! I love our family and everything you guys have done to get us to where we are! Can't wait for the next adventure!
xoxo Sav
