Los Angels Lakers vs. Utah Jazz
Return of the #GOAT
Living in Hawaii, the opportunity to see any professional sports team is always slim so when I heard that the Lakers were retuning to Hawaii you can imagine the excitement! The Lakers used to come to Hawaii every year since 1998 for their one week long training camp and few preseason opener games. However due to the large cost the team has not come since 2007. It's such a treat they decided to come back this year!
For starters, I was actually so lucky to win free tickets to the game! I entered the #LakersInHawaiiSweepstakes hosted by Chevron. I entered this tweet and won! This amazing experience would not be possible without them, I can't thank them enough! Not to mention Chevron was so nice they even added a gas card to the sweet deal!
While we were not court side the seats did provide us with an awesome view right behind the basket! It was so cool to see Kobe play especially along side new comer D'Angello Russell. He is only 19 and is playing along side Kobe in the NBA!! Hard work can really pay off!
The game was actually at my schools Stadium, the Stan Sheriff! It was amazing to see it it completely full and booming with energy! Like I said, we don't have professional sports teams here so it seems the entire island was here to watch!
One of my beautiful girlfriends was at the game too! Its so fun to see friends in fun places!
The legend and the Rookie! The Lakers unfortunately lost this game with a final score 90- 71. They looked super strong in the first half but are definitely are heading in the right direction for the upcoming 2015-2016 NBA season!
Rashawn and I unfortanly did not have any Lakers gear to sport, so I showed my support with some purple lipstick! And I got my hair inspiration from my favorite blogger Amber Fillerup! Rashawn wore an always appropriate Aloha shirt to make the Lakers feel extra welcome!
Probably the coolest part of the Lakers training in Hawaii was that Rashawn got to sit in on a few practices and interview some of the players! He is Sports Staff Writer for the Kaleo at The University of Hawaii so he got all the first hand scoop on all things Lakers this week! You can check out his profile on #1 D'Angelo Russell here!
