6 Holiday Experiences in Denver
6 Holiday Experiences in Denver
Nothing beats looking at beautiful light displays during the holidays in my opinion! Denver and the metro area are home to some pretty cool experiences to get you in the Holiday mood. Check out these 6 attractions ↓
Mile High Tree
In my opinion this is one of the coolest attractions Denver has to offer, and its FREE! Xfinity hosts a digital tree towering 110 feet with over 60,000 lights! The tree rotates through various light shows and music. You can go under the tree and watch the light show, or from the outside. There are lots of photo ops surrounding the area and this year it is across from the ChristkindlMarket! Not to mention the back drop of City Hall all lit up. The attraction will remain open until December 31st and will be hosting a NYE ‘Ball Drop’ at 9pm.
HOURS: Open Daily from 5pm until 10pm
ADMISSION: Free
2. Blossom Of Lights at Denver Botanic Gardens
The Denver Botanic Gardens is known for its incredible grounds of botanicals, but during the winter they complete transform it into a lit up Winter Wonderland. You can walk through the Gardens at your own pace and own discretion. You can plan your route before hand with their trail map, or just go with the flow when you get there. So many photo ops, light shows, and colors that will surly get you in the Holiday Spirit. Grab a hot coco while you walk around for the ultimate experience! The exhibit will stay open until January 7th. You can also visit their sister property in Chatfield Farm and walk the Trail of Lights!
You MUST buy tickets before hand as no tickets are sold on site. Purchase tickets HERE.

3. Christmas in Color: Drive Through Experience
Ready to drive through a million (yes literally over a million) twinkly lights all synced to holiday music!? Christmas in Color has three locations here in Colorado: Denver Location is at Water World, Morrison Location at the Bandimere Speedway, and the Aurora Location at the Arapahoe Fairgrounds. The experience is 100% in your car as you drive through the attractions while you turn your radio to the set channel. For a few extra dollars you can opt in for the 3D glasses, glow-sticks, and necklaces…if you have kids it is 100% worth it! It is an awesome experience and fun to watch kids and adults standing through sunroofs and hanging out windows getting the full experience! The shows will stay open until December 31st.
HOURS: 5:30pm until 9:30pm
ADMISSION: It is $35 per car and if you want the extras it is an additional $15
4. Check out your NEIGHBORHOOD lights
One of my favorite holiday traditions is getting hot coco and cookies loading up the car and checking out the best neighborhood lights! We have been doing this for over 10+ years here in Colorado and it is awesome to see how seasoned pros add to their homes year after year. This year a local favorite in Highlands Ranch, the Gingerbread House, even made it on National TV! Our local new station 9News even has an App this year to map your perfect route!! Download it HERE. You can see some fan favorites here as well.
HOURS: any time you want post sunset!
ADMISSION: Free! Just plan your route ahead of time
5. ICE! At Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center
One of the coolest (and I mean literally… it’s 9 degrees in the ICE Tent!) attractions we have in Colorado is the ICE! Show at Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center. Artisans come from China to carve a beyond impressive display out of nothing but ice. Each year each Gaylord hosts a Holiday Classic and this year Rockies is hosting A Christmas Story for the last time! Like I mentioned, the tent is only 9 degrees so bundle up before you come! You do get a nice cozy parka to wear, but you want to ensure you are covered head to toe so you can enjoy walking through each scene. There is an ICE slide to ride down and lots of photo ops! It is so impressive to see these life size scenes out of ice. Gaylord has TONS of other attractions to walk through and see while you’re here, and some of the BEST hot chocolate in the state! Get tickets and check out other activities here. It will be here until January 1st.
HOURS: 9am until 8:45pm daily
ADMISSION: $29.99 per person (Kids 3 and under free)
6. Denver ChristkrindlMarket
Come step into a European wonderland at our very own ChristkrindlMarket! Complete with authentic German Food, Gluhwein, pecans, and booths galore. If you have ever been to a Christmas market in Europe you will be very impressed with how authentic this market is! It is right across from the Mile High Tree this year making it the perfect outing to get food, drinks, and lots of Holiday Spirit. Check out the map, booth information, and more on their website here. It is open until December 23rd.
