Five Experiences You Can Only Have In Barcelona

Exploring Barca

Welcome to one of the most vibrant cities in Spain! From detailed architecture on every corner to the miles of sandy beaches - it is no reason this one of the top vacation spots in Europe. The culture here is so rich, and with so many amazing things to do, I can guarantee you will fall in love with the city just like I did! Check out these five experiences you MUST have in Barcelona!

  1. Eating Chocolate and Churros

One of the reasons I LOVE to travel is for the dessert. You could say I have a bit of a sweet tooth and finding some tasty treats around the world is one of my hidden talents. When in Barcelona - you cannot come without trying churros and chocolate. You may have had churros before but I promise you they are noting compared to the real authentic stuff. We got these tasty treats from Le Churre for just about €5!

2. See Barcelona beach

Barcelona is a hopping city year round, but in the summer it is unbeatable. With temperatures in the high 80’s and sun shinning almost every day, people flock to these sandy beaches. No matter what time of year you visit, make sure you check out Barcelona Beach or any coastline. Getting some Vitamin Sea is never a bad thing!

3. eat Paella

Similar to the dessert around the world, many countries have unique dishes that represent their culture. Here in Spain that is Paella. It is a big dish, with rice, seafood and meat, some veggies and a few herbs. It is so delicious and something you simply must try while here! They have tons of variations and combinations, and it is served in many restaurants you walk into. Don’t be fooled by my picture below - this was just some amazing shrimp! They took our Paella back to serve and plate before I snagged a pic :)

4. See the park Guell

When in Paris, one sees the Eiffel Tower. So when in Barcelona, one sees the Park Guell. This amazing Park is home to beautiful work of Antoni Gaudi and over looks the city. Over 95% of the park is free to roam and picnic about. Only about 5% is in the paid zone, which does include Antoni Gaudis museums. You can read the full details, pricing, and more here!

5. Walk La Rambla Street

One of my favorite things to do in a new city is walk! You can see so much more by walking - and some experiences are just made for it! La Rambla is one of the most famous streets in Barcelona. The street is not only lines with some local merchants, it also is home to the best shops, eats, and street performers! It is such a fun experience and truly brings out the Spanish Culture.
